Nasarawa state tertiary institutions suspend strike
The two weeks strike, embarked upon by the Joint Union of
tertiary institutions of Nassarawa state,
has been called off. It embarked on the
strike on April 5, citing State Government’s
refusal to address welfare related
issues. The suspension was announced
today, after an emergency meeting of the Union.
The Chairman, Mr. Arik Bashaiyi, stated that the strike was
called off due to the commitment the state government has shown through the tertiary institutions owned by the state.
According to him,the State Government has agreed ton 75% of the demands, which resulted in the
suspension of the strike.
